This photograph was taken after Megan and Paul’s wedding ceremony at St Mary’s church, Greasley, Nottingham.
We had just finished the all important family group photographs and I wanted a few couple’s portraits outside the church before moving onto their wedding reception at Carriage Hall in Plumtree.
I remember asking Paul to just give Megan a little dip and as I brought my camera up to my eye. I could see the wind lifting the bride’s veil. So in a split second decision I waited and clicked just as the wind flicked her veil gracefully in the air.
As soon as I saw the back of the camera, I realised I had a wedding photograph they would love!
Yes, it was partly luck but at the same time, an experienced wedding photographer often makes their own luck!
Their wedding was the first time I had photographed at Carriage Hall. It is a beautiful venue set in the heart of the village of Plumtree. Set in a converted former railway building, the exposed brickwork and stylish decor make this a wonderful location to get married.
