Daniel & Lindsey had booked me early in 2015 to be their Derbyshire wedding photographer at the newly refurbished Peak Edge Hotel, Chesterfield.  It was my first visit as a wedding photographer there so around a month before their big day we’d arranged to meet up at the venue.  I was blown away by how beautiful it is and was definitely excited to be photographing their wedding.

On the morning of the wedding we arrived and caught up with the girl’s getting ready in the huge bridal suite.  Loads of room to move which is always welcome.  Lindsey was really excited but at the same time nervous.  Her dress was amazing and she looked absolutely incredible in it.  Daniel and the guys got ready at a hotel in Nottingham near the church.  They relaxed over a couple of beers before getting in the car to head to the ceremony.

One thing I’ve come to learn is that secretly every bride want’s their man to cry as they come down the aisle.  Happy tears of course.  I’ll let you into another secret.  I do too!  It’s such a privilege to be able to capture those key moments.  When Lindsey arrived at the top of the aisle, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath as her eyes met with Daniel’s.  As soon as Daniel saw how stunning Lindsey looked, unsurprisingly he shed a few tears.  These are the moments I love to capture.  So when I say the ceremony was full of laughter and tears, you will see from the photos that it was all true.

After the wedding we headed back to the Peak Edge in Derbyshire for the reception.  The rest of the day went by in such a blur.  Fantastic speeches where we saw a slideshow with lots of childhood photos of the happy couple.  Between main course & dessert we managed to take advantage of the pause to grab some portraits before the light faded.  After the first dance we left Lindsey & Daniel to party the night away with their guests.

With such an action packed day it has been really hard to choose some of my favourite wedding photographs to show you all.  I’m returning to the Peak Edge later this year and if you are planning on getting married at the Peak Edge Hotel, Derbyshire then I would love to chat with you about your wedding plans.
