Sometimes there are photographs we take which remind us of how lucky we are to have such an amazing job. As a Derbyshire wedding photographer I have shot many weddings around the country but sometimes everything just comes together and you let out a squeal of excitement when you look at the back of the camera. When I saw this photograph on my LCD screen, I admit I did squeak a little bit!
As a busy wedding photographer in Derby I try hard not to fall into the same old routines and poses. Instead I prefer to illicit real emotions from my wedding couples so that they remember how they felt at that moment in time rather than "Oh, that's when our wedding photographer, Martin asked us to stand like this"
I find this approach to be much more authentic and capturing these emotional moments is what motivates me to keep shooting. My philosophy is that it is important that I stay enthusiastic for each wedding. It might be the 50th wedding I have shot this year. But it is my customer's first.
This image was captured near the bandstand at Butterley Grange Mansion in Ripley, Derbyshire which unfortunately no longer hosts weddings. Shame because the location was fantastic and very convenient for me since it is literally down the road from my home.
