The part of the day I enjoy the most about wedding photography is the portrait session with the bride and groom. This is the part of the day where I can be creative and use my experience and skill to create contemporary wedding images that can take pride of place on the wall at home. Shottle Hall in Derbyshire is one of the area's most popular wedding locations so finding new locations to avoid the same old tired formula's that some wedding photographer's can default to was a challenge.
However, I think I managed it at Catherine & Steven's wedding. Using the tree at the corner of the garden's I asked them to take a slow walk up whilst enjoying each other's company. Hopefully not too hard on their wedding day!
I know Catherine had wanted an outdoor ceremony at the pagoda but unfortunately due to the weather, the registrar's ordered that the wedding ceremony take place inside.
The marquee at Shottle hall is one of the largest wedding marquee's I have seen. It was also lovely to catch up with some of my favourite Derby wedding suppliers including Paul from Spirits High. Entertainment was provided by Paul Grundle. In my opinion one of the best magician's in Derbyshire. His mix of talented tricks along with cheeky banter always has guests laughing.
