At Lucy & Kevin's wedding at Stapleford park country house, they had the most amazingly decorated tree. Inside! Yes, that's right. They'd hired a small tree to be decorated with fairy lights and it was right in the middle of the orangery where earlier that day, they got married.
I was really happy with this since it gave me the perfect angle and some visual foreground interest to get a great photograph of the wedding cake.
To achieve this, I used one of my favourite lenses. The Nikon 70-200 f/2.8. I selected the widest aperture I could to get the LED lights out of focus so they would appear simply as bokeh balls.
My assistant was holding my flash to the right of the camera, aiming it at the wedding cake.
Later I did get a great wedding portrait with the bride and groom under the tree using the same technique.
I would love to be booked again to be a Stapleford Park wedding photographer. So if you are getting married there and want to hire a wedding photographer who will be able to deliver you a set of images you can be proud of, drop me a message and let's get chatting about your wedding plans.
