Bronwyn & Chris had a stunning Rufford Abbey wedding in Nottinghamshire. Now I’ve been to Rufford Park many times before on family days out and also for engagement shoots but this was the first time as a wedding photographer. With such a beautiful location, it is no wonder that Rufford Abbey weddings are incredibly popular.
I arrived in the morning with the girls at a local hotel about five minutes drive from Rufford Mill. Here there was an eery sense of calm as the girls all got ready very efficiently! There was no usual last minute panic like I so often see. We arrived at the Mill with plenty of time to spare and captured some photographs of the guys as well as guests arriving.
The ceremony was very emotional with many guests as well as the couple shedding a tear or two! After the ceremony we quickly photographed the family groups before making a quick dash to the Abbey side of the park for the couples portraits before the winter light disappeared. Bronwyn and Chris were very natural and before we knew it, we were on our way back to the Mill for the wedding breakfast.
In the evening, the party was in full swing. Just as we were leaving, I’d packed all my gear safely in the car when the groom’s dad asked if I could take a photograph of the newlyweds ‘under the moon’. Now most wedding photographer’s would have probably said no at this point. But thanks to my experience with low light and winter weddings and a couple of willing volunteers. A few minutes later we’d taken some stunning night sky photographs with Bronwyn & Chris.
We left the happy couple to party the night away. A little birdy told me that Chris did indeed PARTY and was rather worse for wear! ha ha. But hey! If you can’t have a good time at your own wedding then when can you eh?
I’m so grateful that Bronwyn & Chris entrusted their wedding photography to me and took such time to write a glowing review on my Facebook page for me. I’ll include their kind words at the bottom of this blog post but for now you’re all probably impatiently waiting to see the photos from their day……
Kind words from the happy couple
I’m always grateful when my bride and groom’s take the time out of their busy lives to leave me a review on my Facebook page. New customers tell me they love to read about the experiences of previous customers. So I’m doubly grateful that Bronwyn & Chris went to write one of the most comprehensive reviews I’ve had this year. Here is what they have to say, in their very own words:
We received our finished photos only a week after our wedding which is truly outstanding and those photos will make some special Christmas gifts. While my husband and myself were looking through the photos, I couldn’t stop crying because of how moving and beautiful the photos are. It allowed us to remember such a special day in vivid detail.
Martin was amazing with my brothers who are autistic and took family issues in his stride and just made everybody feel comfortable and relaxed. All of our family have been commenting on how amazing he was.
Martin originally was not our first choice in photographer but it was a blessing that we lost our photographer and he was recommended to us because he is truly an artist and we are so blessed with how phenomenal the photos are.
Martin knows how to make himself invisible and was unintrusive. We cannot remember seeing him at all during the day and he still managed to capture the essence of our wedding perfectly.
The photos that were taken towards the end of the evening reception were truly magical.
By the time the evening guests were arriving, Martin had set up a screen to show preview photos of the day so far which was a very touching and special gesture. It allowed us to share our wedding so far with the evening guests.
Imagine our surprise when the next day, we received a dropbox link with the stunning preview photos attached that we could share with our loved ones.
If you are looking for a photographer who is: a true professional; puts everybody at ease; takes some outstanding, emotional photographs; can adapt easily to difficult light (we got married on the 10th December and it was getting dark by 3:30) and still manage to capture one in a million images then Martin is the photographer for you.
We cannot thank you enough!”Bronwyn & Chris
