Julia & Stefan originally booked me to photograph their wedding in Derbyshire. However, due to various reasons, Julia & Stefan decided to move their venue nearer to home in London. When I saw the photos on the Devonshire Terrace website, I was really excited to be their wedding photograph there.
The venue is set a short walk from Liverpool Street tube station. It was actually really convenient for me to get to using public transport. Around the corner was a large Travel Lodge where I could relax after their wedding and catch the train back home in the morning.
One of the features I loved the most about Devonshire Terrace is the glass domed roof. This meant that you could enjoy the feeling of an outdoor wedding, no matter the weather. We needn’t have worried though because the happy couple enjoyed one of the warmest days of the year so far!
Julia looked absolutely amazing as she walked down the aisle where Stefan was waiting for her. During the ceremony, the bride & groom exchanged personal vows whilst their closest friends and family looked on.
Following the ceremony, we quickly finished a few formal group photographs before walking a short distance to one of London’s most iconic landmark’s, The Gherkin.
Speeches were given during the wedding breakfast in between each course. The newlyweds had also arranged for a few ice breaker games so the guests could get to know each other better. This included drawing a portrait of the guest sat opposite you and culminating in a team race to down shots.
I left the happy couple partying after the obligatory cake cut & first dance. But not before whisking them off for a few evening portraits in the tunnel leading to Devonshire Terrace.
I absolutely loved shooting at this spectacular venue. And if you are getting married at Devonshire Terrace then do drop me a message. I would love the opportunity to return and see what stunning photographs we can create together.
