Jennie & Dan

When I first met Jennie & Dan they told me all about their vision for their wedding.  At the time they were both working in the Middle East but were planning on getting married at Jennie’s mum’s church followed by their reception at The Pumping House in Ollerton.  The idea was to decorate each room with things to do for the guests.  Things from all their travels around the world.  It sounded amazing.  They trusted me to deliver natural looking Pumping House wedding photos and wanted someone who would be unobtrusive on the day.

On the morning of the wedding, they both got ready at the accomodation at the Pumping House.  All the rooms are tastefully decorated with plenty of room for each wedding party to spread out. The bridal suite is on two floors! Especially useful if you have a lot of bridesmaids.

The guys left first for the church and as per tradition, the bride left and arrived just in time for their wedding ceremony at St Michael’s church in Bassingham.

I’m used to seeing groom’s wipe away a sneaky tear as their bride walks down the aisle.  Dan shed more than a sneaky tear when Jennie came down the aisle.  And who can blame him?  She looked absolutely stunning in her Suzanne Neville dress which she’d bought from Frances Day Bridal.

Jennie’s mum led the ceremony which must have been very emotional for her since after all, it’s not every day you get to officiate your daughter’s wedding!

After their ceremony a LOT of confetti was thrown and we made our way back to the Pumping House.

Upon arrival, the first thing I saw was a big food truck from Now Now South African Food who were handing out Chicken Bunny.  For those not familiar this is a bit like a curry, spicy but absolutely gorgeous. I admit I went back for sneaky seconds!

Upstairs, their guests were enjoying all the things that the newlyweds had laid out.  Food and snacks from all around the world, cinema room, a fussball table and my personal favourite.  A gin room full of erm….Gin!

The speeches can only be described as an emotional rollercoaster and I won’t comment on exactly what was said. I hear a lot of speeches each year.  Very few make me emotional now. Let’s just say that Dan’s speech did.

The bride & groom did a choreographed first dance which the guests loved. Shortly after which, we all went outside for some fun with sparklers.

We stayed a little longer to photograph people partying the night away before we left them to it.

What an absolutely spectacular day and what a spectacular wedding venue.  It was my first visit to the Pumping House but I don’t think it will be my last.

If you are getting married at this stunning venue then do check if I am available and if so, I would love to have a chat with you about your wedding plans.
