It seems like a long time ago since I first met Gemma and Ben. They had chosen The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country club as their wedding venue and came to see me for both their Nottingham wedding photography and videography services. Over the last couple of years I have got to know them very well with several meetings for various things like their engagement shoot. A secret boudoir shoot for Gemma to surprise Ben with on the morning of their wedding. I got to know their daughter and her bridesmaids. In many ways I will miss them and I hope we will stay in touch.
Their wedding was amazing. It was clear from the start that they had both put a lot of thought and time into their special day. Gemma had not only thought of everything but more importantly, everyone.
My wife & I arrived on the morning of their wedding at their house where the girls were getting ready where we photographed and video’ed the bridal preparations. My second photographer went straight to the boys house to photograph the guys getting ready. The ceremony itself was quite emotional. Ben was wiping away his tears as Gemma glided down the aisle looking absolutely stunning! I could see Gemma trying to hold it together too! Afterwards we went outside into the warm summer day for photographs and mingling with drinks. Actually I lie. On the way out, a surprise chimney sweep arrived to wish the couple good luck.
The traditional speeches were done after the wedding breakfast. In a slight deviation to tradition, Gemma gave a speech too. Wow! What a speech. There simply was not a dry eye left in the house. I’ve heard many speeches in my travels as a professional wedding photographer but Gemma simply hit it out of the park. Even I had to choke back the tears!
We then went onto the course for some couples photographs but we decided to pop out again during sunset where we captured some stunning portraits. I’ll share with you all a few of my favourite photographs from the day but also the video too. Be warned though….you’ll need your hankie ready! It’s a real tearjerker.
