Heidi & Sam - Hazel Gap Barn

Hazel Gap Barn is one of the most popular wedding venues in Nottingham and there is very good reason for it. The Old Barn has been covered into rustic exclusive use wedding venue. It features spacious ceremony barn, gorgeous courtyard with fire pits and lovely grounds for the portraits.

When Heidi was a teenager she once went to her dad and said “Dad, this boy has asked me out. I really like him, what should I do?” Fighting back the overwhelming urge to say "tell that boy to go away!!", Heidi’s dad gave her some advice and soon she was dating. That boy was Sam.

During their time, together Heidi and Sam travelled the world visiting a number of different countries. However, it was New Zealand that stole their hearts and the new couple decided to make it their home. Nevertheless, when it came to their wedding day, Heidi and Sam decided to tie the knot back in the UK after their planned Christmas holiday visiting family. So they could celebrate with everyone closest to them, before returning to New Zealand.

Now usually Hazel Gap Barn is not open in January for weddings since they use the month to refurbish the venue. Ready for the busy year ahead. However, given Heidi & Sam's story, they made an exception and opened up especially for the couple!

On the wedding day morning Heidi got ready at the Redbrick House in Mansfield. Heidi and Sam opted for a celebrant wedding led by Hannah from Your Three Days. We always love a humanist/celebrant led wedding ceremony since it allows couples to include more personal touches and really make their day their own.

After the wedding breakfast the couple and their guests could to roast marshmallows in the fire pits outside and danced the night away!
