It’s taken a while but I’m slowly…very slowly catching up with my blogging. Over the years, I’ve heard many wedding photographers in Nottingham say that referrals are the best sort of business to get. So it was a huge compliment when my good friend and fellow wedding photographer Rachael, recommended me. Not just to anyone but to shoot her sister’s wedding! The icing on the cake is that it was at at one of my favourite venues, the Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club.
I arrived in the morning for the all important bridal preparations, later making a short journey to St Edmunds which is at Holme Pierrepont. What a beautiful church and in such beautiful surroundings. It was my first time visiting Holme Pierrepont which I know is another popular wedding venue which I’ve had enquiries for but always been booked unfortunately 🙁
After their church service we made the journey to the Nottinghamshire. What glorious sunshine we had! After the recent rain we’d had, I was worried it would rain but no fear of that today. Amelia was the wedding coordinator and the staff were their usual amazing selves. I always hear lots of compliments about how great the staff are and it’s easy to see why. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
After the wedding breakfast everyone had plenty of time to relax and let their food settle. We took a trip out on the wedding buggy to get some bride & groom portraits with Jen & Steve. We got a good mix of naturally lit photographs as well as some of my signature dramatic sky shots. The sun didn’t look like it would reward us and was hiding behind some clouds, so we all drove back to the reception. Just as we got back, I noticed that the sun had poked out and the sky was looking amazing. So we made a quick dash out to the balcony where we were rewarded with some absolutely stunning sunset photographs.
I had such a fun time at Jen & Steve’s wedding and I’m so glad I’ve got quite a few wedding bookings at the Nottinghamshire in 2017. I’m really looking forward to them.
