Joanna & Jake chose Valentine’s day for their 60’s retro themed wedding. Jake certainly looked the part in his blue suit and Joanna looked radiant as she arrived in a classic red V8 Daimler!
Jake looked as cool as a cucumber whilst waiting for Joanna to arrive but I’m sure he started getting a little nervous just as the ceremony was about to start. Jake had his eyes firmly closed and resisted the temptation to peek until his beautiful bride was by his side before taking a look.
After a ceremony filled with love and laughter, we all went outside for a few group photographs before I whisked the newly happily married couple away for some portraits of just the two of them. We went to the caves near Nottingham castle to take some unique photographs, stopped by a small park for a few more before returning to the guests.
The Canalhouse looked fantastic and I could tell the guests were having a great time. Before we knew it, the light was fading so I took the opportunity to take Joanna & Jake off again for some portraits near the canal. On the way back I noticed a coffee shop window and with the permission of the manager we used their window for a few impromptu photographs as well as give them a couple of minutes to spend alone away from the hustle & bustle of the reception.
No rest for the wicked and before long we went back to the Canalhouse where it was soon time for their first dance. I left a packed dance floor full of young & old, leaving them in the capable hands of my friend Matt who was the DJ and he was busy rocking out the tunes.
Below are some of my favourite images of the day, I hope you like them too. If you are getting married in Nottingham then I would love to hear from you. Swing by my contact page and do get in touch.
