Lauren & Darren - Hazel Gap Barn

When Lauren & Darren first decided to get married, I doubt either of them had predicted that they would have to plan their wedding during the middle of a global pandemic. It's fair to say that this complicated their wedding plans and the initial feeling of 'Phew thank goodness we chose 2021" would be replaced with "Uh oh...... this virus isn't stopping any time soon....."

Thankfully by early June we were allowed thirty people at weddings. Whereas once upon a time this could have felt quite a small wedding. In actual fact it felt like a nice number. The weather was absolutely GLORIOUS. One of the hottest days of the year so far.

With such good weather, their band. Coco and the Butterfields set up in the courtyard and the party was moved outside! It was an absolutely epic decision since it meant everyone could enjoy the sunshine and dance the day away.

Even in the evening, the party was going and everyone young and old was dancing in the courtyard. I absolutely adored photographing the newlyweds first dance in the courtyard with the firepits and watch towers of Hazel Gap Barn as the backdrop.

As the guests were going home and we were all waiting for taxi's to show up. The weather took a turn for the worse and it started to rain. Quick as a flash, I asked Lauren & Darren to take a quick photo just outside the gates. I am so glad they trusted me enough not to say no when I asked them to stand in the pouring rain ha ha! I'm sure they will agree it was worth it.

The entire day was incredible from start to finish. Everyone was so happy that it was such a pleasure and an honour to be part of their day. I read somewhere that for a wedding blog, I should only show my favourite 40-50 photos. But unfortunately I'm going to struggle to whittle it down to such a small number!
