Lucy & Joe first booked me to be their Morley Hayes wedding photographer last year. They live outside of the Derbyshire area now but Lucy grew up in the neighbourhood. Given all the amazing venues we have locally who can blame them eh? Morley Hayes is set in some of the most beautiful countryside around. The weather hasn’t been the best recently so we all had our fingers crossed that the rain would hold off until at least after the ceremony. We were lucky. The rain started during the final couple of minutes of the ceremony so after a quick signing of the register everyone retreated inside.
Luckily the rain didn’t last long and soon we managed to get back outside for a few group photographs. Before we did that though we did the traditional throwing of the confetti. Poor Joe’s friends certainly were not letting him off lightly. One friend rammed a handful of confetti down his collar. Then you know how we all have that friend who always is a bit late? Well Joe was no exception. Another friend threw a bit straight into his face a few seconds too late! Poor joe! But it made for some hilarious photographs so I was happy and so was Lucy. Sorry mate.
Next was the traditional wedding breakfast, cake cut and then on to the first dance. Time flew by and soon it was time for me to leave. Except as I was packing the car I saw the most amazing sunset lighting up the clouds so I got some gear back out and went to see if the happy couple wanted a few more photos. Thankfully they were well up for it and we were rewarded with some amazing photographs.
If you are getting married at Morley Hayes and want to find a passionate, creative wedding photographer who will work hard to give you images you will be proud of then I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a message to find out if I am available to shoot your wedding.
