about shottle hall

Even before I was a wedding photographer, Shottle Hall was a name I was familiar with. Such is its popularity. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most popular places for bride and groom's to get married in Derbyshire.

As a busy Derby wedding photographer, I have of course been to Shottle Hall many times. No matter if you've chosen to get married on the marquee side or the house side.  This award winning venue will always deliver a day you will remember!

In this blog post, I would like to take the opportunity to share with you some photos from Nathan and Rosie's wedding at Shottle Hall.

In the morning, Rosie got ready at home with her bridesmaids whilst Nathan was with the guys at the Doubletree Hilton in Sheffield.

Their wedding ceremony was at the Greenhill Methodist Church which is their family church.  After their ceremony, confetti was thrown outside on the steps of the church....lots of confetti!  Before we all set up for their wedding reception at Shottle Hall.  The bride and groom had booked the marquee side.  One of the things I love about the Marquee side is the bandstand. Such a pretty spot for photos.  You cannot help but admire the stunning views of the Derbyshire countryside. Taking beautiful wedding photographs is a joy at Shottle Hall since you're literally spoilt for choice here!

After the wedding breakfast, traditional speeches were given.  Not just by the father of the bride, groom and best man.  But in keeping with Nathan's African roots, everyone who wanted to say a few words could have the microphone and wish the newlyweds well.

Later, the wedding party made a grand entrance into the marquee dancing as they entered.  This was epic! I took SO many photos!

As the sun was setting, we took the happy couple outside for some of my signature sunset wedding photos.  I was surprised when Nathan suddenly leapt in the air whilst walking back to the marquee with Rosie.  Thankfully I managed to catch it!

The bride and groom entertained the guests with a funny game of 'Mr & Mrs' before moving swiftly into the first dance.

The dancefloor was pretty much packed from that moment on and even when we said our goodbyes, the tunes were pumping and the guests were partying hard!

We had an absolutely brilliant day celebrating with Nathan and Rosie. I hope they love their wedding video (below) and of course their wedding photos too.  I've shared a few below.
