I believe in keeping things simple and letting the beauty of your special day shine through. My process is straightforward, and designed to make your wedding photography experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

1. Consultation: I'll arrange a consultation to discuss your specific requirements and to get a better understanding of the vision you have for your wedding photography.
2. Planning: Based on our chat, I'll ensure you pick the best photography package that meets your needs and budget.
3. On the day: I will arrive in plenty of time and blend in with the flow of the day, capturing natural, documentary images as they unfold. So you can spend more time with your loved ones and enjoy your day.
4. Editing and delivery: Once the photography is complete, I'll carefully edit the images to ensure they are of the highest quality. Your final images will then be delivered to you within 3 weeks and you will have a password protected web gallery that is easy to share with friends and family.

Set within 250 acres of land, Swancar Farm is an exclusive use venue that boasts stunning countryside views. It's so pretty here and as a result, there's no shortage of opportunities for stunning wedding photographs.

Located in Trowell, it is within easy reach from the centre of Nottingham and Derby and well served by local motorways.

The venue is licensed for wedding ceremonies of up to 100 seated guests in the upper barn or lower barn. The gorgeous brand new glass barn has a maximum capacity of 80 seated guests. The maximum capacity including evening guests is up to 300 people.

Whilst pets are not allowed inside the venue, it is possible to bring them along and take photos with them outside.

Walking around the grounds, you will soon see why Swancar Farm is such a popular venue. There are so many places to take photos.

If you are getting married at Swancar Farm then you are in for a treat! There are now two rooms which are licensed for civil ceremonies. A choice of two stunning rooms for you to exchange vows in.

the upper barn

The Upper Barn is a light and airy space with high ceilings, exposed beams and plenty of charm. It has been sympathetically converted from an old straw barn and can accommodate up to 100 seated guests.

Imagine walking down the gorgeous aisle to your waiting groom surrounded by your closest family and friends! how exciting would that be? As you can see from the above photo, it is such a romantic place to get married.

the glass barn

The glass barn is most often used during your drinks reception but is also licensed for civil ceremonies. With space for up to 80 seated guests, it's a great option if you are looking for something a little more intimate or if some of your guests have mobility issues. The glass barn has quickly become a firm favourite with couples getting married at Swancar Farm.

Not only does the glass barn look fantastic in photos, but it is also flooded with natural light making it the perfect place to exchange your vows.

After your ceremony, the staff can quickly turn this room into an extension of the bar so your guests can relax. It is also ideal for the photograph of everyone if the weather is not great outside. And the balcony from the upper barn affords some unique photo opportunities that I am looking forward to creating!

The space also makes for a great backdrop for a stunning portrait, no matter the weather. As you can see from this photograph taken at Nicola & Steve's wedding. Even when it is really sunny outside, this space is still simply epic!

delicious food

The food at Swancar is amazing! You and your guests will not be disappointed. All the food is prepared on site by the talented in-house catering team. The menu can be tailored to your specific needs and dietary requirements.

I highly recommend the canapés! I always end up eating more than I should when I am photographing a wedding at Swancar Farm!

The staff at Swancar Farm are amazing! They are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Mike, Hayley and the rest of the team will always be on hand to make sure your wedding goes smoothly and all your guests are well looked after.

I have photographed many weddings at Swancar Farm and I have always been impressed by the high level of service provided by the team and how they keep everything running to time.

My favourite places to take portraits of the bride and groom are:

The path leading up to Swancar Farm is one of those must have photos. With sweeping views of the Nottinghamshire countryside it's easy to see why practically every Nottingham wedding photographer uses it as one of their first locations.

The next is the Pagoda. Especially in the evening where I can lower the ambient light and create beautiful photos with dramatic skies.

Lastly a hidden gem. If you walk a bit further up to the field, as the last few photos of the day, you can capture some absolutely exquisite sunset photographs.

Of course, the impressive Oak room is perfect for both your wedding breakfast and the partying later in the day! Just look at the magnificant backdrop for your speeches!

Later in the evening, the team at Swancar transform the Oak room into a stunning room for your evening reception.  Imagine you and your friends all partying here. After your first dance song of course!

And what about a dance with the father of the bride? One day I hope I will be able to do this with my own daughter. Hopefully at a venue as gorgeous as Swancar Farm too. I would cherish such a photo forever.

There are 11 double bedrooms available in the main house for your guests to stay after a hard night of partying. You also have the opportunity to spend the night before your wedding in their self catering cottage, The Stables. A very popular option for the bride and her entourage.

It means you can wake up and lose no time travelling. Spend more time with your friends, family and the all important getting ready!

Being so close to the centre of Nottingham, there are a lot of hotels in the local area to suit all budgets.

The Nottingham Belfry is less than three miles away. The Doubletree Hilton is just under five miles away and less than a 10 minute drive, to name just two hotels. Not to mention the Holiday Inn just one junction down at the M1 Junction 25 and the Premier Inn in Nottingham.
