Accommodation Near Hazel Gap Barn

Hazel Gap Barn is one of Nottinghamshire's most popular wedding venues. I am very proud to be one of their recommended wedding photographers.

Over the years I have gained a lot of experience of places to stay near Hazel Gap Barn. So whether you are looking for hotel accommodation, a guest house or maybe a relaxing lodge style cottage with a hot tub? Then I hope this page helps.

I have put together some of the most popular locations nearby that some of my previous bride & groom's and their wedding guests have booked to stay. As well as how far and how long it will take you to drive to the venue.

Holbeck Farm Barns

Holbeck Farm Barns is also known as the Welbeck Estate. It is situated about 12 minutes drive from Hazel Gap and is actually five cottages which have been converted from a barn to stunning accomodation.

I love how modern they are and how spacious the living area is. It's the perfect place for your make up artist/hair dresser to work in the morning.

Having five cottages means family & friends can also stay there with you and make your wedding into more of a multi-day experience. Three of the cottages (Mrs Butterwick, Mowerina & La Roche) have hot tubs in the garden for the ultimate in relaxation. Jump into the hottub for a good soak the night before your wedding with your bridesmaids! You've earned it!!!

The cottages at Holbeck Farm Barn would be my personal choice if I was getting married at Hazel Gap Barn. The proximity means I don't have a long journey to the ceremony and back once the wedding is over. The luxury accommodation is immaculately maintained and I do love a good hot tub! ha ha

Clumber Park Hotel

Clumber park hotel is probably the most popular location for wedding guests to stay if they've been invited to a wedding at Hazel Gap Barn. It is only 5 miles away from the venue and a mere 8 minutes drive. It is the closest hotel to the venue.

Being a Mutu hotel, it is a popular hotel in its own right and includes a fully featured spa & gym along with a choice of two restaurants.

Even though there are 73 bedrooms, I would recommend booking early since it is a very popular location not just for Hazel Gap guests but other travellers too.

For the bride, I would recommend the bridal suite. This is the largest bedroom and has a separate lounge area which gives you extra room for all your bridesmaids, make up artists, hairdresser and of course...your wedding photographer!

If you have a really large party, Clumber Park hotel does have a separate room you can get ready in. Whilst it is not as luxurious as the bridal suite, it is easier for everyone to move around if there are a lot of you.

Of course, there is plenty of parking and free wifi for guests.

Sherwood Hideaway

If I were getting married at Hazel Gap Barn. This is where I would want to get ready! Sherwood Hideaway is home to 30 luxury wooden lodge retreats. All are equipped to the highest of standards. However, I would highly recommend booking one with a hot tub! Perfect for soaking away those pre-wedding nerves and relaxing in the heart of Sherwood Forest before your wedding.

A minimum booking of three nights is required for weekend stays.

Sherwood Hideaway is just under 6 miles from Hazel Gap Barn and around a 8 minute drive.

The Cottages - Edwinstowe

The Cottages is also known as "The Robin Hood Holiday Cottage". It is available to book for a minimum of three nights and situated in the beautiful village of Edwinstowe. It is located pretty much opposite The Forest Lodge Hotel.

It has accommodation for up to 16 guests over eight bedrooms and there is ample parking for up to six cars.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Cottages for Ryan & Serena's wedding. It was a lovely cottage full of character. With multiple rooms, it is easy for your wedding party to spread out whilst getting ready for the ceremony.

Like The Forest Lodge, it is 4 miles away from Hazel Gap Barn and will take you around 6 minutes to drive there.

Redbrick Woodland Lodges

My first visit to The Redbrick Woodland Lodges near Edwinstowe was for Heidi & Sam's wedding. Heidi got ready here whilst Sam got ready at the nearby Sherwood Hideaway.

Heidi had hired the Oakridge Lodge which is a very spacious two story American style log lodge. Extremely light and airy with an open plan lounge area and kitchen. I love light and airy places for getting ready wedding photographs.

With a private hot tub, this really is a relaxing place to stay.

Just under 7 miles away from Hazel Gap Barn, it should only take you around 11 minutes to arrive at the venue.

Clumber Lane End Farm

Clumber Lane End Farm in Worksop is a suite of rooms which is perfect for you and your bridal party to stay at. A mere 8 minutes drive to Hazel Gap Barn, it is also very convenient too. You can hire the whole Farmhouse meaning you will have exclusivity and be able to relax in their beautifully decorated rooms.

The Windmill Cottage - Eakring

The windmill cottage can sleep up to eight people in its four bedrooms with a minimum three nights stay.

I visited The Windmill as part of Charlotte & James's Hazel Gap Barn wedding and was very impressed with this beautiful cottage. It would make the perfect location for the bride to stay with her bridesmaids, the night before the wedding. There is plenty of room to get ready since the accommodation is set over four floors.

Parking is available for two cars and free wifi is available.

The cottage is 9 miles away from Hazel Gap and will take around 15 minutes to drive. Whilst it is the furthest away of all the accommodation mentioned on this page, in reality it's still very close by.

The Forest Lodge Hotel

The Forest Lodge is a small independent hotel situated in Edwinstowe that has earned a reputation for providing a lovely environment for guests to stay.

Each room is equipped with all the amenities you'd expect. A private bathroom, hairdryer, kettle and free Wifi.

Food and drink is available at the on-site restaurant.

A mere 4 miles away from Hazel Gap Barn it is a very convenient place to stay and you could easily travel to the wedding venue in around 6 minutes.

Centerparcs - Sherwood Forest, Nottingham

I was a little hesitant to put this on the list. However, it is somewhere you can stay so it should be included.

The reason I wasn't sure is that there are quite a few restrictions staying at Centerparcs may not be ideal before your wedding.

Firstly, their lodges can only be hired either Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon. Meaning you have to commit to a longer stay. If you have chosen to get married on a Friday then this wouldn't work since Fri is a change over day and you wouldn't get access to your lodge until later in the afternoon.

It used to be very difficult for non-guests to get access to centerparcs but their approach seems to have changed now. Recently a couple managed to arrange access for us and Centerparcs staff called us to get our details and car registration in advance. On the morning, the security staff were expecting us and even let us drive right up to the lodge. This is essential since otherwise dragging gear across Sherwood Forest would add a lot of time to what is usually a packed timeline.

So if you want to turn your wedding into a relaxing break then Centerparcs is definitely worth considering. But I would definitely recommend making the staff aware at the time of booking so you can ensure your wedding photographer, make up artist and any other suppliers who may need access in the morning can enter the grounds.
