Introduction
The first time I pulled up outside Shustoke Barn, I was like "WOW!" What a beautiful building. As one of the Cripps and Co wedding venues, you just know that it will have all the modern features you'd expect from one of their exclusive use wedding barns. From the Funktion One sound system, the open flame barbecue and the late license until 1am. You are sure to have the wedding of your dreams here.
Shustoke is in Coleshill and is perhaps one of the best known wedding venues in Warwickshire. It is conveniently located near the M42 and M6 motorways, a mere twenty minutes from the centre of Birmingham.
Wedding Ceremonies at Shustoke Barn
Shustoke Barn is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies of up to 140 guests with capacity for another 60 evening guests.
If you are thinking of a church wedding then there are some great churches nearby where you can tie the knot before travelling to Shustoke Barn for the most epic wedding party ever!
Like all Cripps & co venues, they've gone to town to retain a lot of the original architecture. So the ceremony room just looks utterly breathtaking and a unique space to tie the knot in. A large spacious room that looks stunning on its own but of course you are free to put your own stamp on it by styling the room to your own personal taste if you wish.
As a wedding photographer I'm very grateful for the two large floor to ceiling barn doors that let natural light flood into the barn. Meaning your ceremony photographs will look glorious!
The Courtyard
Once the ceremony is over, guests can mingle in the bar area and also the spacious courtyard to the rear of the venue. One of the things I really appreciate as a wedding photographer is the fact I can quickly run upstairs and poke my head out of the window for the all important photograph of all the guests.
Wedding Reception & The Party
As soon as your wedding ceremony has finished, the amazing staff at Shustoke transforms the barn into the room where you and your guests will enjoy the wedding breakfast.
You can have the pleasure of feeding up to 140 guests for dinner and like all Cripps venues, the food is always perfectly cooked using the freshest ingredients. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of trying all of their menu, including at feast nights and food photography shoots. And I can hand on heart say I've never had a bad meal yet!
Once the food is eaten then it's time to get the party started with your first dance before everyone starts throwing shapes with you on the dance floor! The venue is able to hold up to 200 guests! That's going to be some party!! and more than enough for most UK weddings.

My Style of Wedding Photography
I always tell couples that my goal is to photograph YOUR wedding. To document what happens on your day rather than waste your precious time recreating someone else's pinterest wedding. That's why for most of the day I take a very natural and documentary approach. I don't falsely stage moments or have you standing there saying "CHEESE!" to the camera. Instead I prefer you to forget I'm there so I can focus on the real emotions. The big smiles as the groom sees his bride walk down the aisle, the tears as dad sees his daughter in her dress for the first time. I passionately believe that those moments cannot and should not be staged or they lose all meaning!

Food at Shustoke Barn
If you are getting married at Shustoke Barn then at some point you will have the difficult task of choosing what to eat. I've had the pleasure of tasting pretty much the entire menu and can honestly say I've yet to have a bad meal at a Cripps venue! I love a good BBQ but have a few times had the vegan menu which has also been very tasty.
In my opinion, the best way to decide is to book yourselves on one of the infamous Cripps Feast Nights. Drop the venue a message and ask when their next event is. It's the perfect time to take your closest friends and family to show them how beautiful Shustoke Barn is and to enjoy a fabulous meal.
